Rollback: help req with vanished funds/balance in wallet

Thanks for responding

There's a few worried folks out here, if the ZANO team can help them then this whole episode will shine a good light on Zano Project moving forward.
I've been very impressed with the Zano ecosystem featuring some very cool platforms, it'll be great watching that grow. The fUSD took things to another level for me and I'm sure once more folks hear of it Zano will go top 10.
Cheers for being on the ball sorting this mess out

Hello, thank you all for the information.
My case falls under "withdrawals from an exchange during the affected period." On 8 September I made ZANO withdrawals from two exchanges (CoinEx and NonKYC), all confirmed at the time and then reversed by the rollback. I have all TXIDs, screenshots and records saved as recommended.
My concern: the announcement says the exchange refunds these withdrawals once it reopens, but I have two problems:
NonKYC has already replied that it is "not their desk" and referred me to the Zano team, refusing to refund.
CoinEx is ceasing operations (announced shutdown), so it is doubtful it will reopen ZANO and refund in time.In cases where the exchange refuses or will close without refunding, how should I proceed? Would my case fall under the "process for individual users"?
Thank you.

Yeah I saw that debacle on Twatter

I get it, it's crypto, trustless, immutable etc, however given the situation I did feel the response from NonKYC was harsh, arguably unnecessary and absolutely unprofessional.
I hope you get it sorted

If anything, times like this are a great way to gauge the dynamics of a company. You're always going to get competitors looking for an edge, digging up controversy and going into "FUD ZANO NOW" mode, and yes while some of it is rather entertaining much of it reeks of desperation. I mean, I can decide when to buy PIVX or whatever by myself, I don't need the shit stirring input of some "paid by the post' lamer from fiver.
Team Zano should look around at such posts and ask themselves "can we bring to market platforms within the Zano ecosystem with a far better customer experience and corporate feel?" A Zano DEX or whatever that makes loyal customers happy to exchange the cash for services etc. I think developing a genuine platform that its fans care for (somewhat like the sentiment the Monero crowd have for XMR) would skyrocket Zano up the coin rankings.
But yeah, good luck man

Thanks for keeping all the TXIDs and records, that's exactly what's needed.
The team is in direct contact with the exchanges and working closely with them as they move to the recovered chain, and cases like yours are part of those conversations. I can't speak for NonKYC or CoinEx on their side, but the team intends for the community to be made whole throughout this process.BTW, nobody from the team will DM you first about this. If anyone messages you offering to help recover your balance, it's a scam.

"Thank you for the reply and for keeping affected users informed. I have all my TXIDs and records saved and ready for when the claims process opens. Looking forward to it."

Hi ,
I'm not sure if my posts are in moderation or something, but I'm trying to get help with refunds through ZanoX to no avail.
I've also just updated Freedom Wallet along with the native Zano wallet and have lost a further $150

Are these other exchanges currently in contact? I'm not sure what to do?
Thanks.

UPDATE: Funds seem to have reappeared in the original wallet

Can I confirm that the reimbursement process has occurred and I can now use these funds? I ask because I'm unsure if this is a result of reimbursement or something else, hence my reluctance to do anything

Thanks to everyone involved, I've been sweating a bit here

ZANO: AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE β INCOMPETENCE, LOST COINS, AND ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY
If I could give ZANO negative five stars, I would.
My experience with ZANO has been nothing short of a financial nightmare. Following their disastrous rollback, my coins are missing, my funds are in limbo, and I have been left wondering whether I will ever recover my own money.
And what makes this situation even more infuriating? The apparent lack of urgency, accountability, and communication from the people responsible.
I have sent emails seeking answers, yet ZANO has failed to provide me with the response and resolution I deserve. How can a cryptocurrency project expect people to trust it with their money when something this serious happens and customers are left in the dark?
The level of incompetence I have experienced is staggering.
Cryptocurrency is supposed to represent financial independence, security, and freedom from the failures of traditional financial institutions. Instead, ZANO has given me an experience that feels like a miniature version of the 2008 financial crisis: uncertainty, shattered confidence, and ordinary investors left carrying the consequences.
The arrogance of expecting users to maintain confidence in a project while their assets are missing is absolutely astonishing.
At this point, I have virtually ZERO confidence in ZANO or the people managing this disaster.
Let me make one thing crystal clear: IF I EVER GET MY COINS BACK, I AM GETTING RID OF EVERY SINGLE ONE.
I will exchange them for a more established and liquid cryptocurrency, because I refuse to expose myself to this level of uncertainty again.
And if I never recover my coins? Then this experience will stand as one of the most disgraceful examples of how badly a cryptocurrency project can fail its users.
Trust takes years to build and seconds to destroy. ZANO has managed to destroy mine completely.
I want three simple things:
- MY COINS RETURNED.
- A CLEAR EXPLANATION OF WHAT WENT WRONG AND HOW THE ROLLBACK AFFECTED MY FUNDS.
- SOME ACTUAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND A RESPONSE TO MY EMAILS.
Until then, I strongly urge anyone considering ZANO to think very carefully before trusting this project with their money.
ZANO, YOUR USERS ARE NOT YOUR EXPERIMENTAL GUINEA PIGS. THEIR MONEY IS NOT A TOY.
This has been an absolute disgrace, and I intend to keep speaking publicly about my experience until this matter is properly addressed.
ZERO TRUST. ZERO CONFIDENCE. ZERO EXCUSES.

@Asurakhan88 Sorry youβre in this spot. Your frustration is fair.
Taking your three points in order:
Your coins. Most missing balances depend on where the coins were between Aug 26 and Sep 27:
If your wallet shows zero, update from zano.org/wallets or the official GitHub releases page and let it fully sync. Balances from before Aug 26 should appear.
If you withdrew from an exchange in that period, the coins are back in the exchangeβs wallet. The exchange re-credits them once it has updated.
If you deposited to an exchange in that period, the coins are back in your own wallet on the recovered chain. If none of those fit your case, tell us roughly what happened here and weβll pass it to support. Donβt include your seed phrase or any private info. Our commitment is to recover affected balances in full.
What went wrong. The post-mortem has been published on our official channels. It covers the vulnerability, why it went undetected, and why the chain was restarted from block 3,833,000.
Read it here: https://blog.zano.org/p/19b37565-1cd0-44dc-bf2a-8e231f9395e7/
Your emails. Sorry nobody has got back to you. Reply here with your ticket number or the date you emailed, and Iβll make sure support follows up.
For the latest, keep an eye on our official X account, where all announcements go out, and on forum.zano.org, where we post regular updates to keep everyone in the loop.
Recovery process news will be announced there first.
Please also be careful. Nobody from the team will DM you first or ask for your seed phrase. Anyone offering to βrecoverβ your funds in DMs is a scammer.

@Asurakhan88
Sorry youβre in this position, and your anger well i get it.
On your three asks, two are already done and one is in progress., and gino has covered it allWorth knowing this isnβt uncharted, Bitcoin itself had an inflation bug in 2010, 184 billion BTC minted, fixed the same way, erasing the affected history.
What gets judged is the response, and here the cause is published, the funding committed, and balances are being restored exchange by exchange. -

Thank you.
@oscarmoralzarzal Just checked. It seems nonkyc alrady reopen market, withdrawals an deposits.
I also have a few zano "in limbo" due to rollback, but I see them back on my nonkyc account, ready to withdrawal.
Can anyone confirm is all OK with nonkyc?
