    We've updated the Zano roadmap to reflect where the project actually stands and what's coming next.

    The key addition: the Zano Execution Layer.

    An EVM sidechain that brings smart contracts to Zano, with bridged $ZANO as the native gas coin. Standard Solidity contracts and tooling run unmodified. Hardhat, Foundry, MetaMask, and audited contract libraries all work from day one, so developers can build on Zano with the stack they already know.

    That opens the door to lending markets, AMMs, and yield for $ZANO and Confidential Assets like $fUSD inside the Zano ecosystem, not only on external chains. Every contract interaction requires $ZANO for gas.

    Check out the full updated roadmap below. 👇

      Smart Contracts on a private chain...unreal.

      I recall having a discussion with some colleagues of mines quite some time ago, regarding the notion of having smart contract capabilities on a private chain that it was considered to be unfeasible.

      That is unlikely now 😄

        @monerodatruth
        correct me if im mistaken, it looks like a separate EVM sidechain that Zano are bolting on rather than contracts on the Zano chain itself.
        i haven't seen another privacy chain take the EVM route like this tho.
        Beam has smart contracts on chain, Octra's doing full FHE (their code's only partially open sourced so far), and Dero uses homomorphic encryption that broke lol. none of those are EVM compatible on chain, so this'll be huge for Zano.

          Having both public and private transactions available on Zano makes it a great, if not the only, choice to model and automate business processes. Smart contracts with that backdrop would be awesome.

            @htzano Even if it's just a sidechain the compensation will be enormous for Zano.
