Why we created this forum
Zano's community has always been active across Discord and Telegram, and those channels are great for real-time chat, quick questions, and announcements. But real-time chat has a weakness: good ideas scroll away. Deep technical discussions get buried, and newcomers end up asking the same questions again and again.
This forum fixes that. It gives the Zano community a permanent, searchable, well-organized home for long-form discussion. Everything posted here stays discoverable, for you and for everyone who comes after you.
Additionally, since this is a dedicated Zano forum, there should be way fewer scammers here!
What you can do here
- Ask and answer questions. Wallet setup, staking, mining, confidential assets, Zano Trade, Zano Companion: if you're stuck, someone here has probably solved it. And your answer today becomes tomorrow's reference for someone else.
- Discuss ideas and proposals. Share thoughts on the protocol, the ecosystem, and where Zano should go next. Thoughtful, long-form debate is exactly what this space is for.
- Get building help. Developers integrating Zano's APIs, libraries, or confidential assets can discuss implementation details in depth, without losing the thread in a fast-moving chat.
- Share what you've made. Built a tool, written a guide, launched a project on Zano? Show it off and get feedback from people who care about privacy tech.
- Stay informed. Follow updates, releases, and community initiatives in one organized place.
A few things to keep in mind
- Search before posting. Your question may already have a great answer.
- Be respectful. We're a global community of builders, miners, stakers, and privacy advocates, and we want this to stay a place people enjoy.
- For confirmed bugs and feature requests, GitHub remains the right place: github.com/hyle-team/zano/issues. For real-time chat, Discord and Telegram aren't going anywhere.
- For sensitive data, such as your wallets or funds, only use our official support channel, which is available on our website: https://zano.org/support
- Never share your seed phrase or private keys with anyone, here or anywhere else. No team member will ever ask for them.
Privacy is not optional here. It's the default. Thanks for being part of it.

@cards_relay At the moment, it is optional.
You can either register an account using a username and password, which upon successful registration, will give you access to the forum.
Now if you register via an alias-based authentication process, your identity is tied to your on-chain Zano alias, rather than an easily spoof username.
As a consequence, aliases that are registered with the blockchain cannot be altered /or impersonated the way a Telegram or perhaps a Discord username can.

if you make an account with a user name thats the same as your alias is there any way to link that alias after the fact?

The authentication of your alias is how its determined that you are the true owner of the alias.

Am I the only one that sees Trump's election bribe to give all American adults $5k (if he wins) as the rollout of digital ID? A key condition of receiving the funds is that they must be spent in America!
The only way that is enforceable is if they have an effective way to control where the money can be spent at minimal cost i.e. without incurring a massive bureaucratic cost. To access the money they can link up people's social security to government issued wallets that are then loaded with the funds or require people to sign up for a digital ID to access the money.
The above is speculative on my part but does anyone else see this as a possible carrot for the roll out of their dystopian drag net?
