I wanted to share an upcoming project with the community: ZanoNames, a marketplace for buying, selling and discovering Zano aliases.

For anyone unfamiliar with aliases, a name like @yourname links to your Zano wallet address. You can use it to receive payments and sign in to supported Zano dApps. Aliases are registered on-chain and can be transferred to another owner.

ZanoNames is bringing several features together:

• Fixed-price listings: buy an alias at its asking price or list one you own.
• Auctions: bid on names you want, with support for proxy bidding.
• Wanted offers: make an offer for an alias that isn’t listed for sale.
• Alias Monitor: explore the full on-chain alias registry.

Marketplace sales will use escrow. The buyer’s payment is held until the alias transfer is verified on-chain, then released to the seller.

I recently saw @freemoney get registered on-chain. If you have a name in mind for yourself, your business or a project, you can already check its availability and register it through your Zano wallet.

The website is currently in beta testing, with a public launch coming soon. Follow @ZanoNames on X for updates and the launch announcement.

Hey, yes, that's correct. Cake Wallet has made that decision on their side, so for the exact details and timing, it's best to check their official channels.

If you're holding ZANO in Cake, the official Zano wallet is available for desktop, Android, and iOS at zano.org/wallets. Only download it from there or the official GitHub releases page. If you get stuck moving over, ask here. Nobody from the team will ever DM you first or ask for your seed phrase.

If you have a special seed format, you can use Unstoppable Wallet to import your wallet, as it's the only one that supports that seed phrase type.

@ZANO69 Freedom Wallet is a third-party wallet, so it moves to the recovered chain on its own side. That would explain why it still shows the transfer as pending. Check Freedom Wallet’s official channels to see whether they’ve confirmed the update before you use it to send anything.

Taking your three points in order:

Your coins. Most missing balances depend on where the coins were between Aug 26 and Sep 27:

If your wallet shows zero, update from zano.org/wallets or the official GitHub releases page and let it fully sync. Balances from before Aug 26 should appear.
If you withdrew from an exchange in that period, the coins are back in the exchange’s wallet. The exchange re-credits them once it has updated.
If you deposited to an exchange in that period, the coins are back in your own wallet on the recovered chain.

If none of those fit your case, tell us roughly what happened here and we’ll pass it to support. Don’t include your seed phrase or any private info. Our commitment is to recover affected balances in full.

What went wrong. The post-mortem has been published on our official channels. It covers the vulnerability, why it went undetected, and why the chain was restarted from block 3,833,000.

Yes, that's right. Since HF7 was used for the network recovery, Zenith is moving to HF8. The numbering change shouldn't affect the work already done, and we hope progress continues as planned.

It's still too early to give an ETA. After what happened, we won't rush anything. Gateway Addresses will stay disabled until we've fully reassessed and audited that code without time pressure, and we're applying the same standard to Zenith and ZEL. The goal is to have everything fully audited, including by third parties, so it's as solid as we can make it before anything goes live.

You've laid out the sequencing trade-off well: Gateway v2 built against the long-term PoS consensus versus the delay that could mean for ZEL and the integrations that depend on it. We're not in a position to commit to an order yet. We'll share how that plays out, and what it means for the roadmap, in an official update rather than guessing here.

Thanks for keeping all the TXIDs and records, that's exactly what's needed.
The team is in direct contact with the exchanges and working closely with them as they move to the recovered chain, and cases like yours are part of those conversations. I can't speak for NonKYC or CoinEx on their side, but the team intends for the community to be made whole throughout this process.

BTW, nobody from the team will DM you first about this. If anyone messages you offering to help recover your balance, it's a scam.

At Common S3nse Amsterdam, blockchain researcher Odysseas Sofikitis from Common Prefix presented “Zenith: Zano’s Path to Pure Proof of Stake.”

Odysseas is a PhD candidate at NTUA and specializes in consensus protocols, Byzantine fault tolerance, accountability and blockchain interoperability.

In the presentation, he explores blockchain security, Proof of Stake, privacy-preserving protocols, and how these ideas come together in Zano’s upcoming Zenith upgrade.

Privacy shouldn't stop at the native coin.

Vini Barbosa recently published a great deep dive into one of Zano's biggest competitive advantages: Confidential Assets.

Unlike tokens built on transparent smart-contract networks, assets created on Zano are native to the protocol and can benefit from the same privacy infrastructure as $ZANO itself.

This means Zano isn't limited to private transfers of one coin. The network can support an entire ecosystem of private assets.

Hard Fork 6 officially went live, bringing Gateway Addresses and major protocol improvements to mainnet, while the Zano Execution Layer moved into a unified testnet configuration. I recently put together a detailed comparison of Zano, Monero, Bitcoin and Ethereum to see how they actually stack up side by side.

The comparison looks at seven categories and uses linked sources for the numbers rather than relying on narratives or marketing.

One of the biggest takeaways is that Zano is the only chain in the comparison combining A+ privacy and fungibility with a native private asset layer.
